It's the last day of Dressing Up Dolly!
Hope you've loved it :)
I'll be back tomorrow with links to all of the posts in case you missed something
Hi, I'm Jessica, and I blog at Mom 4 Real. You can usually find me sharing DIY and home decor projects with a few crafts here and there, but I wanted to venture out and try something new. My little girl, Kate, has a vast love for her American Girl dolls, and as I am sure you know, their clothes and accessories can get really expensive. So, I thought I would try my hand at making a dress for her new doll, McKenna. Well, that didn't go so well, so I opted for a book bag instead.
I started with two 6 X 6 squares of scrap fabric I had in my stash.
I folded the edges inward about 1/4 inch, folding over twice, then I sewed all the way around on each square.
I then cut a piece of ric rac 6 inches long and sewed the end to the inside of one of the square panels.
I made sure to place the ends close to the edges.
Next, I placed the square panels together right sides together, and sewed all the way around leaving the top open.
Then I turned the bag right side out.
I hot glued on a large pink button, then a green gem as well. All finished!
Now, McKenna has a cute little bag to carry her school books in. Maybe I'll give the dress another try, because this truly was fun!

My newest sponsor Flirt Earrings is home to darling earrings perfect for spring!
She was kind enough to send some along for me to try but since I don't have pierced ears my little sis. was the lucky beneficiary and she couldn't be happier!
Her official review:
- Loves how lightweight they are (seriously I felt them and they don't weigh a thing!)
- Closure doesn't come undone
- Professional enough that she can wear them to work but they add a fun pop of color
And you know what I love?
Each pair is just $5! Talk about a perfect gift idea or little treat for yourself!
Let's take a peek at some of the fun styles:
Tons of more fun designs are in the shop and she plans to release 5 new designs in the next month!
