Puppy Love Dress

Time for another week of Project Run & Play fun! I've had so much fun sewing along I just might have to do it every season :) This week the theme is "Love is in the Air". Anne has been a dog lover since she was teeny tiny (it was her 1st word) so I made her a special puppy love dress for her 3rd birthday

She adores the fabric and I love that it is a no-fuss type of dress that is suitable for everyday wear. With a few special details of course :) Pleated bib front (hard to see I know...), sleeve plackets and cuffs, shirttail hemline and...

a big bow in back!
Is it love??? Most definitely!
Need a dress of your own?
You're in luck! The Sabrina Shirttail Dress Pattern was just released :)

Baby Ski Bum and Puffy Vest Tutorial

I was so excited for boys week that I actually had 2 looks completed!
Here's our baby ski bum :)
After a long day on the slopes he needs something comfy to lounge around the cabin in :) Ok...he doesn't ski (yet!) but we did spend some time at a cabin over Christmas break
The jeans were another re-purposing project with some fun knee patches for my crawling boy. Pattern for the Aviator Cap and Cowl Neck Sweater are in the shop. And today I have a tutorial for the reversible puffy vest!
With the cold weather we've been having here in UT this vest has been worn a lot!
I thought I'd get a much cuter picture without Anne's princess crown. Wrong move mommy...
Let's get sewing!

Just a Peek: Cabin Fever

Utah has had horrible weather all January. Freezing temps, snow, freezing rain, and now horrible smog and poor air quality (evil inversion...).

Anyway we are longing to be outside and very much stuck inside. The kids are resorting to some new forms of entertainment
What's your favorite indoor activity?

Urban Baby

It's boys week over at Project Run & Play!
I had so much fun sewing something for my little man for a change. Since he is always on the go I made this outfit specifically for him: durable and comfortable.
The jeans started out as a pair of my shorts (which were once pants). I deconstructed them completely and then used my skinny jeans pattern to cut out the pieces. I added 1/2" to the side seams since my material doesn't have any stretch and then cut the pieces out saving the original front pockets and hardware.
I love how authentic it looks! I sized down the original waistband and then reattached it so I could keep the original Lucky button. The original rivits and and pocket edges really add to the finished look
I saved the original belt loops and tag and reattached those at the end. I love his little Lucky Brand bum. I know I'm biased, but seriously I just love it! And it turns out those belt loops are super useful for catching my little runaway :)
I had some teal vinyl in my stash just begging to be made into baby moccasins.

Let's take a look at the hoodie! This was the piece I based the whole look around and I love how it turned out. All of the fabrics are repurposed tees so they are super soft and comfy
