Project Run & Play Week 1: Time to Vote!

I'm so excited to share my week 1 look with you!
Head over to Project Run & Play to VOTE
My little girl loves everything fairy, princess and make-believe so I created the Pixie Dust dress with her in mind. Whimsical and full of fun!
My favorite elements of the Party Dress were the covered buttons in the back and color blocking, so I used those as the building blocks of my design. I altered the bodice pieces to better fit my tall and slender girl and then created a fun faux-wrap design in front. A row of playful covered buttons cross the front on a diagonal adding visual interest and holding the wrap bodice in place. I added a double layer circle skirt with a fun handkerchief hem made just for twirling! I cut the length of the sash in half and tied it in front to complete the faux-wrap look. I love the way it coordinates with the pops of pink peeking out the skirt hem. Most importantly this design gets a big stamp of approval from my own fairy princess :)
This is one of very few designs that turned out exactly as I imagined and I couldn't be happier with it! I love the sweet and simple eyelet on top bodice mixed with the fun prints in the skirt. The entire dress is also fully lined so there isn't a single exposed seam to itch or bother my little one.

  12. Amy, great job - and she looks so happy in it, the wrap front is so fun and I love the V neckline it gives the dress. (*ps -did you know that your direct link from the PR&P post isn't working, or at least didn't work for me..., brings you to the site, just not directly to this post)
