Just a Peek: Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
It's not quite Halloween but we celebrated a bit early at our church party on Saturday night. Little miss loved getting her nose painted on (surprisingly!) and is in love with the real dog collar she got to wear.

Our Roger and Anita costumes weren't much to look at it, but they were easy!
And I'm all about easy:)
Maybe one day our little puppy will start trusting photographers...

Have fun tomorrow night! We're going trick-or-treating at the library. I think that will be just perfect for a 1 year old- can't wait!

#1 Jewelry Station
by...DesirĂ©e @ The 36th AVENUE

...How did I get so lucky to be in the finals of American Crafters with these
two  incredibly talented ladies?
This has been so much fun! I've had a blast!
For my last project I decided to do something for my sweet  husband. For almost 14 years the poor guy has not just put up with me but with my jewelry all over the place.
Well... those days are OVER honey ;)
I made a jewelry station that sits right inside of our  walk-in closet.
To my surprise he loves it all...The peg board, the chicken wire frame for my earrings, the soup cans... the cup holder that got transformed into the bracelet holder, I even think he loves me more ;)
I hope you love it too!

.
.Amy... Thank You so MUCH for hosting such an inspiring party and best wishes to Jaime and Charlie... For the rest of you have an EXTRAORDINARY weekend!
Besos!

This is super pretty. I really love all the little details! What a beautiful way to display your jewelry!
Kelli:  Ooh la LA! I want that. Forget wanting just that, I want Desiree to come to my house and make the whole thing over! (:
Kristi: Clever use of space! Executed well and the jewelry looks so posh in soft white fur :)
This is what I need for my jewelry! I love the organization and I love how beautiful it looks! Great job Desiree! Congrats on making the final 3! You are so talented!

It is SUCH an honor to be part of this fourth and final round of American Crafter!
My craft for this round is completely and totally "me".
It is something I have been wanting to do FOREVER---
anddd this competition finally gave me the push to get it done!
I have been avoiding a master bedroom makeover for a LONG time....
But now that I did everything I possibly could fit into the past 3 days---
I feel like it is a perfectly meaningful
{I have special stories about just about everything in the space!}
serene and relaxing space---
everything I was wishing for!
I had fun refinishing all 4 of these pieces!!!
Night stand, Dresser, Bed frame, & chair!
I focused on making everything light and white--while blending grays and tans---
And I didn't spend more than $6.00 on any of the furniture!
I LOVE up-cycling!
Please please stop by my blog Crafty Scrappy Happy and check out the before photos to get the full effect!!!
& again, it has been so fabulous being a part of American Crafter!
~Jaime

Wow a beautifully serene space! Love the white and gray tones, and fabulous job on all four pieces!
Kelli: Who finishes a whole bedroom in 3 days? Under $6? And makes it look FAB?! Jaime, of course! Adore this, top pick!!
Kristi: Such a pretty space! The crazy busy paid off as the bedroom is simply perfect! My top pick, too :)
Congrats on making the finals! Everything you've done has been spectacular, including this room! I love the how light and bright the room looks with these fresh colors! Love those numbered frames too!

#3 Kids' Reading Nook
by...Charlie @ Attempting Aloha
's Fav
Aloha! I decided for my final project, I'd finish the kids' playroom reading nook. It was fun for me to put it together, and it ended up using all different kinds of crafts in the process. :)
The READ sign is a play off of Robert Indiana's famous LOVE sign. Also famously replicated in Pottery Barn's Christmas NOEL sign (that retails for $150!!). I made the pattern, cut out my own template, and then cut out pieces on a 1x10 with my jig saw.  I sewed the curtain and the beanbags (x3, but only one is pictured). I rebuilt the bookshelves for round 2. And the lampshade, DIY wire baskets, and the pleated basket liner were things I've done previously and have tutorials up on my site already. Of course, "Blondie" is one of my 3 best (and most time-consuming) creations. ;)  Thanks a million for letting me compete. It's been a pleasure, and I'm very glad to have had motivation to finish up these projects. My girls LOVE their new playroom! Aloha!
What wonderful use of such a small space, this is so perfect for a child's own little area. Love it!

Kelli: Aww, love this. My 2 yr old daughter LOVES books, I can see this in my house. Great job, Charlie!
Kristi: The letters are cute and is a great little space for the little one to snuggle with mom to read. Well done! :)
#3 I wish I had a space in my house to create a little reading nook like this! What a lucky little girl. I love the colors and the window makes it a perfect bright spot for enjoyihng a good book! Congrats on making it to the final round, you deserve it!
