Round 3 Voting!

Come join the Friday Favs Party:)

And now let's see those Summer Fun Projects!

#1 Sixty Days of Summer
by...Sassy Sites
This is so exciting! We are down to the last round before the final THREE! This has been such a fun competition and I've gotten so many great ideas from the other crafters! This round is "Summer Fun" and one word automatically came to my mind... activities! I want to keep my kids busy this summer doing fun things and some service too (not that service isn't FUN). So, I'm excited to say that now my kids will have at least 60 activities to keep them busy this summer! I found some of the ideas online, and then I came up with lots that fit for our family.
I've had these picture frames for as long as I can remember. They've been used for a couple of different projects. But this one is, by far, my favorite!! I used vinyl lettering to make my list and placed it directly on the glass. The glass is dry erasable, so they can use this list and check them off as they accomplish them. I am excited to actually have GOALS for this summer. When my boys saw these, they wanted to get started right away!
I can't wait for summer!

What a great idea!  Looks like you will be having tons of fun this summer! Angie
We can ALL use some great summer ideas, so this is a fun idea!  Kudos for doing vinyl for your entire list--wow! Alison
I'm a list person and I love checking off boxes. How fun! Amy
#2 Summer Handbag

Every Lady Needs a Cute Summer Handbag!
It's hard to believe that summer is right around the corner! When this week's theme was announced, I had many ideas running through my head, but in the end, I knew this one was "it!" I have a couple weddings coming up this summer and I could really use a new clutch. Well, it just so happened that last weekend I picked up this brown, patent leather vintage clutch for a buck {yes, $1} at a garage sale.
I had a plan, but had no idea if it would work. So I went and picked out some fabric and crossed my fingers, hoping for the best.
A little measuring, cutting, Mod Podging {if that's even a word}, folding, twisting and rolling and I had a FABULOUS summer clutch to take with me to those weddings!
My new summer clutch!
It turned out even better than I thought it would! And Mod Podging the fabric to the patent leather worked like a charm! The best part? It cost less than $5! You can't find a price like that at any department store!
Good luck to all the contestants this week! Your projects rock!

Mod Podge on a purse??  GET OUT!  Terrific!!  My fave for the week! Angie
I never in a million years would have thought to mod podge fabric to a brown patent leather hutch!  My favorite part, though, is those rosettes! Awesome! Alison
Gorgeous! And Mod Podging is totally a verb. :D Amy

#3 Drab to Fab Deck on a Budget
The pitiful BEFORE:
And after a little budget makeover!
Some of my projects
Chalk board painted tin pails turned hanging planters
Fabric wrapped wreath
Bundt cake pan turned table decor and planter
Bundt cake pan turned
flower container with room for the umbrella!
I definitely did not come up with the puffy paint trick.
Not sure who was the originator of that but if it was you chime in!  It's genius and I would love to give you credit!!!
Budget Breakdown:
Cushions: $36 (Home Depot)
Rug:  $30 ( with coupon: World Market)
Umbrella: already owned
Lighted Lanterns:  $15 (World Market)
Tin Buckets: 2 for $5 (Target Dollar Spot)
Chalkboard Paint: already had
Plants:  $9
Wreath: $2 (fabric and flowers already had)
Bundt cake pan: $3 (Goodwill and spray paint already had)

Great deck makeover!  My fave part is the bundt pan -- genius! Angie
I LOVE that you used a bundt cake pan as a planter!  There are lots of components to this makeover.  I'd love to come party on your deck! Alison
Bundt cake pan? That is so smart and creative! Amy

 #4 Stenciled Lawn Chairs
by...Nat Sprat
***I am SO incredibly excited to have made it to round 3! Thank you guys SOOOO much for helping me get this far! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! *** When I think of summer fun, I think of laying out in the sun while my kids run through the sprinklers in the backyard. The smell of barb-q in the air, coconut scented sunscreen and sticky fingers from melted popsicles. Simple as that. I love summer!
Photobucket
I was looking through some Pottery Barn Kids magazines, and they have the cutest stuff! I love the new beach designs they've come out with this summer! I've really wanted some cute lawn chairs for the family, and decided to make my own. I bought 2 lawn chairs, some fabric paint (don't use the acrylic paint, it'll just rub/wash off!) and some stencils. I let my kids chose the designs they wanted and here's what I came up with!

Photobucket
I think they turned out AWESOME! And, since they're personalized, I don't have to worry about them fighting over who gets what chair! ;) And they are so easy, ANYONE can make them. (Come on...you know you wanna!)

Clever and unique!  Awesome job! Angie
This is the perfect summer idea!  I love that you let your kids participate in the process to make it more meaningful. Alison
I thought that was printed fabric at first. Cool! Amy

#5 Juicy Watermelon Outfit
by...She Wears Flowers
Picture 1
Nothing says summer like a yummy watermelon! This little watermelon outfit will make everyone feel summery and cool. It’s downright juicy! BBQ anyone? Why, yes, I think I would like that. It’s all in the details on this one. With ruffles and ric rac, you really can’t go wrong. The little watermelon pocket is the perfect place to store a binky or a toy while you munch on a juicy summer watermelon. There are no zippers or buttons to get in the way during a lazy afternoon nap.  This outfit is just screaming for some sunshine!
{Sigh}…I just wish summer would make it up to my part of the world!

What a cute outfit and a cute baby! Angie
What an adorable little watermelon!!  Love, love, love! Alison
Um, I need this in my size. Amy

#6 Lemonade Stand
by...Lolly Jane
Alison's Fav
Whoo hoo!
We survived another round- thank you SO much :)
When we think of summer, it always includes sweet lemonade so we thought we could spruce up the lemonade stand we found at a yard sale for $4.  Before it was just white with some chalkboard paint.  Kind of bland, right?  We added some bright vinyl lettering in the perfect font, a cheery banner with fun summer colors/prints and a striped awning to complete the look.  Include our sweet Saira in a ruffly apron and we're ready to sell some lemonade! ;)
Happy Summer!
What kid would not love this?!?!  Awesome lemonade stand. Angie
Nothing screams summer like a lemonade stand!  I'd stand in line for a cup of lemonade at this stand any day!! Alison
Very vintage and very cute. I love the pennants! Amy
